Karlos Dansby (LB), Arizona

The NFL Source | MVN - an NFL and pro football blog » Blog Archive » Cardinals Talking With Dansby: "The Arizona Republic Reports that the Cardinals are engaged in talks with linebacker Karlos Dansby and his agent. Dansby was slapped with the franchise tag earlier this offseason, making him unhappy. A $8.065 million tender is on the table, but its doubtful that Dansby signs that, as he wants a long-term deal worth more money.
This column believes that Dansby will hold out of mini-camp and training camp if he doesn’t get a new deal, which is very possible. This is why Arizona is so interested in signing him.
After losing Calvin Pace, Arizona obviously doesn’t want to lose Dansby for the 2008 season and beyond. He’s only twenty-six, very talented, with three interceptions and four forced fumbles last year, and fits very well in the Cardinal’s 3-4 defense.
Therefore, I see Arizona making a huge effort to give him a new contract before the July 15th deadline. He’s one of their most talented, young defensive players, and a guy that they want to center their defense around."
