Quentin Groves: Super Athleticism & Versatility vs Gholston

SportingNews.com - Your expert source for NFL Football stats, scores, standings, blogs and fantasy news from NFL Football columnists: "Gholston vs. Groves
You can bet Ohio State defensive end Vernon Gholston is a popular subject in draft meetings, but someone in each team meeting is also likely to fight for the growing value of Auburn's Quentin Groves, a very athletic outside pass rusher in his own right.
Groves is climbing on draft boards because of his super athleticism. Although Groves isn't as big and as 'pretty looking' as Gholston, the talk among NFL observers is that Groves is more fluid, which gives him more versatility. Gholston is viewed primarily as a 3-4 rush linebacker who could also be used as a 4-3 end, but he isn't ideal for that latter spot and would also struggle to play linebacker in a 4-3. Groves, meanwhile, has the edge-rushing skills to line up as a 4-3 end, and with his athleticism, he can also excel as a 3-4 outside linebacker or a 4-3 strongside linebacker.
There is little doubt this late in the process that Gholston will be drafted ahead of Groves, but there is a groundswell of support -- including from the War Room -- for Groves turning out to be the better NFL player."
